ATHLETICS

Well done to Savannah Ingledew, who won the U14 800m and finished 3rd in the 400m events at the Grey and Oranje Meisies Athletics Invitational Meeting over the weekend. She ran a personal best time of 2:19 in the 800m and 59 seconds in the 400m.

St Peter’s Tournament

The 1st Basketball Team competed in the annual tournament hosted at St Peters from 19 – 22 September. The girls played nine games in the pool stages, won 6 and lost 3 to finish 3rd in the group. They progressed to the quarter final and narrowly lost 14 – 15 to Michael Mount.

NETBALL

SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5’s Netball Tournament

The 1st Team competed in the first addition of the event. They played five matches and won all five of the group games to finish 1st in the group. They went onto win 13 – 7 in the semi-final and 6 – 5 in a close and tense final against TWC.

Action Netball

Congratulation to Mia Lee and Lauren Skinner who have been selected to participate in the KZN Midlands U19 Mixed and Under 16 Team respectively at the National Provincial Tournament from 27 – 31 March 2020. The tournament will be hosted at HILLFOX, Roodepoort.

INDOOR HOCKEY

It was great start to the season in their opening fixtures against Grace College, Epworth and Voortrekker. Over the two days we played nine matches, won 5, drew 2 and lost 2.

RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

Well done to Hannah Haines and Josie Le Roux who competed in the Rhythmic Gymnastics National Gym Games held in Durban over the holidays. Hannah received a 2nd place and a silver medal for her ball routine and a 5th place overall in the level 10/over 15 category. Josie finished 3rd and got a bronze medal for her ball routine, finishing in 4th place overall in the Level 9/ over 15 category.

SOCCER

The 1st Team Soccer girls competed in the annual tournament hosted at St Peters from 19 – 22 September. They played four games in their pool stages, won 2, drew 1 and lost 1 to finish 2nd in the group. They unfortunately lost 1 – 0 in the quarter final to Sutherland.

TENNIS

Hilton College & St Anne’s Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament

St Anne’s & Hilton College hosted the Mixed Doubles Tournament from 20 – 23 September. Well done to the tennis girls who finished 5th in the girls doubles and 4th in the mixed doubles.

WATER POLO

St Anne’s Water Polo Tournament

St Anne’s hosted the annual Water Polo Tournament from 20 – 23 September. The 1st Team Water Polo girls had a great run and did exceptionally well. They were unbeaten in the groups stages, made it through the quarters, and lost narrowly to St Stithians, 7 – 6, in the semi-final. The 2nd Team, who bravely competed against 1st Teams, obtained valuable experience from the event and finished 16th overall.

KZN Top Schools Water Polo Tournament

The U14, U16 and 1st Teams were involved the Top Schools Tournament from 4 – 6 October held in Kloof. They all performed exceptionally well and competed in the respective age group finals, all against DGC.

The U14 and U16 lost 9-2 and 5-2 respectively while the 1st Team won 7- 6 in their match. Well done to Emma Thornton and Anna Thornton-Dibb who received the U14 & U19 age group Player of the Tournament awards. Josie Dobeyn was awarded the Goal Keeper of the Tournament.
