The girls of Usherwood took Chapel this morning and gave the assurance that God is with us in the hard times, both in His presence and in the people that surround and support us during trials. It is important to realise that God is not punishing us when bad things happen, nor does He want us to suffer. We live in a broken and messed up world where terrible things do happen. Jesus understands what we are going through and cares deeply for us. We may not realise He is with us but, just like the wind that we cannot see, Jesus is always besides us. He guides people in to our lives who care for and help us when we feel alone, and He reaches out and gives us strength. “Life’s detours are God’s highways” and through difficult times, we can learn compassion and also grow in faith.
