Gap Students
St Anne's Diocesan College has provision for 2 Gap Students per year or 4 Gap Students for two 6 month semesters (dependent on application). Gap Students wishing to stay for a full year will receive precedence over 6 month placements.
Requirements/Job Description
Gap Students are required to work closely with the Sports Department and with the Administration Department of the College so computer skills are important as is a sporty nature. During the mornings, the students work in the administration building and in the afternoons are called upon to help with coaching of sport and with escorting girls to/from sports fixtures. There is occasional weekend work (sport and escorting girls to social functions).
Major sports offered at St Anne's Diocesan College include Swimming, Tennis, Squash, Netball, Basketball, Hockey, Cross Country, Athletics, Canoeing, Water Polo, Diving and Synchronised Swimming as well as a range of recreational activities such as Soccer, Volleyball and Rounders. Gap Students who offer one or more of these sports will be given preference when applications are received.
Accommodation/Payment
The Gap Students share their own fully fitted little cottage on the property, comprising lounge, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The accommodation is not attached to a Boarding House. Students are at present paid R1,100.00 per month and are also reimbursed for any sporting escort duty they fulfil. Food, during term-time is included in the package. Gap Students may stay at the school during the holidays if they are not travelling around the country. All laundry is done by the College and the cottage is serviced once a week by St Anne’s cleaning staff.
